{"id":62,"date":"2015-03-24T15:10:21","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T15:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edgreenproject.com\/?p=62"},"modified":"2015-03-24T15:10:21","modified_gmt":"2015-03-24T15:10:21","slug":"biscuits-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edgreenproject.com\/?p=62","title":{"rendered":"Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had to enlist Uncle Ed in showing me the 1951 method of biscuits recipes from &#8220;the bible&#8221; of home cooking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Standard Biscuits:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups all purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup shortening or butter<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt (I use 2)<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sift flour, powder and salt, cut in butter and knead till smooth-ish, not all smooth. Roll out half inch thick and cut to size.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>I really wasn&#8217;t listening when he told me not to roll them too thin. My first batch, plain hockey pucks. I&#8217;ll spare you the photos, just stuck with a half inch or more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Onward and upward.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Parmesan Garlic Biscuits:<\/p>\n<p>Standard biscuit recipe but a cup of shredded Parmesan and a minced whole garlic kneaded into the dough.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edgreenproject.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_7365.jpg\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edgreenproject.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_7366.jpg\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jammers:<\/p>\n<p>Standard biscuits but with a depression pinched in and baked with jam.
